The Kyōdō risshi ki series — "Instructive Guide for Fixing One's Aim and Pressing On" — was a biographical portrait series Kiyochika produced in the mid-1880s, celebrating exemplary figures of Meiji-era self-improvement and achievement. This undated print is either a preparatory version or a related variant of the formal series entries, depicting one of the subjects in Kiyochika's established portrait format.
