Untitled work by Lee Ufan

A rectangular terracotta relief with a pale, off-white slip covering the surface, incised all over with fine cross-hatched and diagonal striations that reveal the reddish-brown clay beneath. Across the lower half, six curved gouges cut through the white slip in an irregular row, exposing the raw terracotta in flame- or leaf-like shapes of varying size. The artist's signature is incised in the lower right corner; artist Lee Ufan, medium terracotta, title and date unrecorded.
