Description
This print was shown in Cozzolino's solo exhibition "10+1 anni di Xilografia Giapponese" — eleven years of Japanese woodblock printing — held in a centro storico venue and assembled as a survey of her mokuhanga practice from her 2011 conversion through the year of the show. The retrospective format positions the work alongside earlier pieces, making the development of her colour palette and compositional approach legible across a decade. Like every print in her catalogue, the matrix was carved by Cozzolino herself and pulled by hand on Japanese washi using water-based pigment and a baren, with no studio assistants and no press. The "10+1" framing reflects her tendency to anchor exhibitions in personal anniversaries rather than thematic concepts, and the choice of a historic-centre venue rather than a contemporary gallery underscores the local, regional character of her exhibition practice in northwest Italy. The print itself is one impression from a small, hand-numbered edition.
