Description
A large fallen birch log with peeling white-and-black bark angles diagonally across the foreground of a still pond, its exposed cut end colonized by patches of orange, yellow, and green lichen or moss and a scatter of pale green-leaved seedlings on thin pink-red stems. Dark green foliage and bare white branches fill the upper background and reflect in the teal-and-emerald water below, which brightens to pale green in the lower left corner.
