Description

In this woodblock print titled *Shu (populace)* by Masato Sudo (date unknown), five nude figures kneel with their backs to the viewer against a plain grey studio backdrop, arranged in a loose semicircle. Four of the figures are covered in elaborate full-back tattoo designs in black, vermillion, and blue-grey depicting dragons, floral medallions, and figural scenes, while one smaller, central figure with hair pinned up remains bare-skinned, set apart from the others. A pencil signature and small red seal mark the lower right corner.
