Description
*Mountain View* (2014), a Chinese brush painting by Xu Ming, depicts steep, jagged mountain peaks in grey ink with passages of pale orange along the rock faces, rising above drifting white mist. Dark pine trees cling to the cliffs and a ledge in the lower left, above a small white house with a dark roof set on a rocky outcrop near the water's edge. Vertical calligraphy and a red seal appear in the upper left corner; no figures are visible in the scene.
