Description
The head of a Great Buddha statue is shown in profile, filling the right side of the composition in dark grey-brown, with the tightly curled hair, elongated earlobe, and closed eyes rendered in fine linear detail. Behind it, the background is divided horizontally into a flat maroon upper section and a mustard-yellow lower section crossed by converging diagonal lines suggesting a floor or pathway receding into the distance. The print is pencil-numbered 2/10 at lower left, with the title and "Nana Shiomi" signed in pencil at lower right; this woodblock print, "Mitate No.88 - Great Buddha (Daibutsu)," was made by Nana Shiomi in 2011.
