Koson's bird-and-flower prints are his most numerous and accessible works — he designed ~450 prints total. Common subjects in average condition remain widely available. Quality of impression, color fidelity, and publisher seal (Kokkeido preferred over Watanabe) are the key value drivers.
A pair of mallard ducks glides across calm water, their reflections rippling beneath them. The male duck''s iridescent green head is rendered in rich, lustrous colors, while the female''s mottled brown plumage is depicted with equally careful observation. Gentle concentric ripples extend outward from the swimming birds.
