Description
A black-and-white wagtail perches on a slender lotus stem above water dotted with small round lily pads, its long tail angled downward and beak pointed toward the water's surface. Above it, large lotus leaves in muted green and gold dominate the composition, several edged and mottled with rust-brown decay, alongside a single seed pod on a bare stalk. The palette shifts from a pale cream sky at top to soft blue water below; this vertical woodblock print, titled *Wagtail and Lotus*, was made by Ohara Koson in 1900.
