Description
"Lyric 28" is one of Onchi's late numbered abstract compositions — the "Lyric" series among his most sustained and systematically organized series of formal investigations. By the time of these late works, Onchi's abstractions had achieved a completeness that made them fully self-sufficient as visual statements: the compositions needed no external reference, functioning as purely visual experiences in which color, form, texture, and spatial relationship created meaning independent of representation. This print exemplifies that achieved abstraction.
