Untitled work by Onchi Koshiro

An abstract composition built from flat, organic and geometric shapes in black, white, gray, and rust-red, printed on cream paper. A curving black-and-white biomorphic form dominates the left side, while the right half is divided into rectangular and triangular blocks of gray and reddish-brown, with a small white oval set within the gray shape. This woodblock print by Onchi Koshiro (title and date unknown) has no recognizable figures or setting, reading as a nonrepresentational arrangement of color and shape.
