A print of unknown title — one of Onchi's many works that survive without complete documentation — embodies the [sosaku-hanga](/glossary/sosaku-hanga) principle that the artist's individual vision, however it might escape easy categorization, deserves preservation and serious engagement. Without a title to guide interpretation, the print invites direct visual engagement with Onchi's formal choices: the color relationships, the compositional structure, the quality of mark-making that identifies a work as his even when the subject remains uncertain.
Curated cross-cuts that include this print.
