White-walled Himeji Castle rises against a deep indigo night sky, its tiered roofs and gables stacked in pale blue-grey tones with a crescent moon and wisps of pale cloud to the right. Dark green trees cluster along the base of the castle's stone-walled ramparts, which sweep down and to the right in a long defensive corridor with barred windows. A Japanese title reading "Himeji Castle" runs vertically at the upper left, with the artist's carved seal and pencil signature "Paul Binnie" below the image and an edition number "68/100" at the lower left.
