Description

A woman with elaborately dressed dark hair, adorned with an ornate pink and gold headpiece and hairpins, sits holding a young child against her chest, both facing forward with downcast or closed eyes. She wears a pale yellow-gold robe layered under a large salmon-pink outer garment edged in green, while the child wears a red robe patterned with a floral motif; behind them a mustard-yellow wall bears a pale scrolling design. Signed by Paul Jacoulet in the lower right, "La Tresor Coree," 1940, woodblock print.
