Description
The calling of Jesus — the beginning of his public ministry, his emergence from the Judean wilderness following his baptism and temptation — is rendered by Watanabe as the gathering of a small, purposeful group around a central figure whose authority is visible in posture and presence rather than halo or supernatural sign. The katazome stencil technique gives all the figures the same material solidity, making the divine presence among the human not through visual elevation but through the relational arrangement of the group.
