Description
"Stream" (1986), an intaglio print by Shigeki Kuroda, is an abstract composition dominated by bands of ochre, muted teal, and violet sweeping across the upper two-thirds of the sheet, with a dark angular wedge and a streak of green-white light entering from the left. Along the lower edge, a row of open umbrellas rendered in white, grey, and pale blue overlaps a dense tangle of fine black linework, with the wire-spoke outline of a bicycle wheel emerging at the right. No human figures are depicted; the palette and layered textures create a quiet, hazy mood suggestive of rain.
