Tōkaidō

Bold black outlines divide the composition into angular, faceted shapes—tree trunks and branches fill the upper two-thirds—hand-colored in green, yellow, purple, pink, and rust-orange with visible brushy, uneven strokes. In the lower portion, two small figures in dark robes stand beside a low table or stall bearing round objects, set against a mottled floral ground of pink and purple dots.
