A circular medallion outlined in green encloses a dense cluster of plants in bold black outline with loose washes of color: bamboo stalks on the left, pink and white plum blossoms on branches at right, yellow blossoms and blue-green leaves below, and a single purple bellflower at center, with pink, blue, and black dabs of color scattered throughout. Four square cartouches with black Japanese characters and a small red seal occupy the corners outside the circle against the plain paper ground.
