Description
Ono traveled to London in 1962 and responded to the city's atmospheric evening light with characteristic restraint. The British capital's famous fogs and late-afternoon gloom are rendered not through soft gradation but through Ono's preferred device of bold silhouette and tonal simplification — dark urban forms against a deepening sky. The print joins his series of European cityscape works that show a consistent modernist vision applied across radically different architectural environments.
