$500–$4,000. Common prints: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Ono's socially conscious prints and urban scenes are valued for both artistic quality and historical interest.
A trial proof — one of only two — from Ono's 1962 European journey, this view of a Black Sea farm carries the tentative freshness of a work still being calibrated. Ono traveled extensively beyond Japan in the late 1950s and early 1960s, seeking out landscapes that tested his graphic vocabulary against unfamiliar terrain. The Soviet Black Sea coast offered broad agricultural vistas far removed from Tokyo's urban density, and his response maintains the flat, reductive style while accommodating open land.
