A companion piece within one of Ono's figure series, this work treats the relationship between individuals as a compositional rather than narrative problem. Two figures brought into proximity create a visual tension — the space between them, the angle of contact, the weight each body exerts on the picture plane — that Ono navigates with characteristic economy. His friendship and relationship studies share the same graphic authority as his cityscapes.
