Description
Sakura rendered with Ono's modernist eye — the cherry blossoms that defined Japan's most beloved seasonal celebration seen not as soft, romantic cloud but as bold, flat shape. Where shin-hanga artists like Hasui treated cherry blossoms with atmospheric delicacy and bokashi gradation, Ono converts the petals and branches into a graphic structure of color and line. The result is spring still recognizable as spring, but defamiliarized through formal rigour.
