Fishing

This small monochrome woodblock print, titled *Fishing* by Tanaka Ryohei, shows the thatched gable roof of a structure glimpsed through a dense stand of tall, narrow bamboo stalks, their foliage clustered sparsely near the top of the composition. The palette is limited to grays, muted tans, and fine black linework against cream paper, giving the scene an enclosed, quiet feel with no figures present. A pencil signature and edition number appear beneath the image, which is set within a wide white mat; the print's date is unrecorded.
