Description

Faces of Pieces (2011) is an intaglio print by Toshihisa Fudezuka composed of roughly a dozen dark grey-brown angular shapes scattered across a plain, lightly textured pale beige ground, printed on cream paper with a visible plate mark. The forms are irregular polygons and slivers of varying size, each outlined in a slightly darker contour and given a soft cast shadow, arranged with open space between them rather than touching or overlapping. The print is signed in pencil at lower right and numbered "35/60" at lower left, with a line of characters inscribed beneath the image between the two.
