Description
A woman in a turquoise kimono patterned with a honeycomb motif stands sweeping snow from bamboo with a broom, her purple under-robe and floral obi visible beneath the outer layer; snow dusts the bamboo leaves around her and falls lightly against a pale blue-grey ground. A small inset panel above shows a straw-cloaked figure trudging through snow with a hoe over his shoulder, framed by a red-and-green border and vertical Japanese text. This woodblock print, titled "Mo So (Meng Zong)," was made by Toyohara Chikanobu in 1891.
