Description
A bare-chested, heavily tattooed warrior lunges in profile across a cream ground, wielding a long spear or staff braced overhead in both raised hands. His body is covered in dense dragon and figural tattoos, his dark hair flies loose and wild, and he wears a torn green robe with a red underlayer at the waist, bare feet extended in a running stride. Columns of black kanji text and a red seal occupy the upper right corner. This is "Kyūmonryō Shishin" by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, 1882, a chūban-format nishiki-e (polychrome woodblock print).
