Description
A mountain stream in early morning — the water still, the air cool, the light not yet fully established — is rendered in Hiratsuka's 1958 woodblock, ink on paper. The stream subject belongs to his river and water studies, the morning hour chosen for its quality of suspended animation before the day's activity begins.
