Description
A young man and woman stand barefoot side by side in shallow water at the edge of a lake, holding hands and facing the camera; he wears a pale long-sleeved shirt and dark trousers, she wears a green short-sleeved top and a dark skirt. The scene is bathed in a hazy lavender-grey light, with a flat expanse of still water reflecting the pair and a low, faint shoreline visible in the distance. Yoshihiko Ueda's 1992 C-print "北京(密雲湖) Beijing (Lake Miyun)" holds the two figures in a symmetrical, frontal composition against the muted, monochromatic backdrop.
