Quai St. Ann (Quai Sainte-Anne) in Bruges, one of the canal-side streets in the historic quarter near the Church of Saint Anne in the city's eastern districts. This 1919 print completes the systematic survey of Bruges' waterway-fronting streets that Urushibara executed during the Belgian visits. Each quai had its own distinct character determined by the buildings that lined it, the width of the canal, and the quality of light at different times of day — differences that Urushibara's printmaking eye would have registered with precision.
