$300–$3,000. Common folk art prints: $300–$800. Key value factors: Mori's cheerful folk art prints are affordably priced. His stencil technique (kappazuri) is distinctive.
Ueno Scene, printed in 1967 as a stencil ([kappazuri](/glossary/kappazuri)), presents the famous Tokyo park and cultural district around Shinobazu Pond and the Tosho-gu Shrine — one of the great public spaces of the old Yamanote district, beloved for its cherry blossoms in spring and the variety of its cultural institutions. Ueno was both a natural and social landscape, its park providing relief from the urban density surrounding it and its museum district establishing it as the center of Japan's public engagement with art and culture. Mori's rendering would have captured the particular character of this district, its blend of historical memory and modern civic life.
