Description
Mountain Stream (Rabbit), Yuki Ideguchi, 2017, newspaper, ink stick, and acrylic paint. A hanging-scroll composition rendered in grey ink wash showing a blossoming tree with birds perched among its branches and one in flight, a rocky outcrop, and a seated rabbit beside a stream that descends in bright blue and indigo acrylic from a small cascade at upper left to a dark pool at the bottom edge. An orange speech-bubble containing small printed text is collaged into the upper portion of the scene, breaking the monochrome ink palette along with the stream's blue tones; a red seal mark appears near the lower right.
