Description

A ninth untitled work by Aoyama Masaharu, the final untitled composition in this group. His oeuvre — spanning traditional subjects like temple architecture, birds, and famous landscapes alongside the more personal subjects of rural labor, domestic animals, and vernacular material culture — constitutes one of the most substantive achievements in Showa-era sosaku-hanga printmaking. The works listed here as untitled represent the portion of that achievement still awaiting the archival research that would restore their subjects and contexts to the record.
