Description
A Path through the Forest B — the second study of a forest trail subject — shows Fujita in his most characteristic mode: using a path as both literal subject and compositional metaphor, the trail through trees creating a structured recession into space while the enclosing vegetation forms a complex pattern of vertical rhythm. The "B" designation confirms this as a paired or serial work, developed alongside version "A" in a sustained investigation of the forest path as visual subject.
