$500–$4,000. Common prints: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Fujita's contemplative prints appeal to collectors of contemporary Japanese printmaking.
Hayashinomichi B — Path to the Forest B — is the second variation on a subject that pairs two of Fujita's most characteristic interests: the forest as destination and the path as approach. The path through open terrain toward a treeline creates a compositional structure of spatial recession, the trail narrowing as it approaches the dark boundary of the forest edge. The "B" designation indicates this was developed as a studied variation, perhaps with different color treatment or compositional emphasis than version "A."
