$500–$4,000. Common prints: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Fujita's contemplative prints appeal to collectors of contemporary Japanese printmaking.
Midorinokisetsu D — Green Season D — is the fourth variation in Fujita's meditation on the Japanese season of green: the deep summer months when the landscape is overwhelmed by chlorophyll, from the rice paddies to the forested mountain slopes. For Fujita, green season is not merely a meteorological fact but a compositional opportunity: the multiple greens of the natural world — from pale yellow-green new growth to deep blue-green shadow — provide the raw material for color exploration within his abstract forest and nature subjects.
