Description
Bare, black silhouetted trees fill the left and center of the composition, their tangled branches rendered as sharp interlocking lines against a mottled blue-grey sky; a smaller cluster of thin trees stands isolated to the right. A flock of black birds streams diagonally across the upper right in loose V-shaped formation, while the foreground shows dark horizontal striations suggesting a riverbank or shoreline.
