Description
"Morning of tableland B" — a second variant in a series of highland morning compositions — captures the plateau at the moment when dawn light spreads across open, elevated terrain. The tableland offers a distinctive landscape experience: the horizon wide and low, the sky enormous, the ground a level expanse without the vertical drama of mountain or valley. Kitaoka renders morning's arrival on such terrain as a horizontal drama of light and color, the flatness of the tableland becoming an invitation to pure atmospheric painting in woodblock form.
