Two robed figures with shaved-pate hairstyles face each other across a low wooden railing, a single young pine sapling growing between them; the left figure wears layered kimono in mustard, brown, and blue with a black tuft mounted on a pole over one shoulder, while the right figure wears a blue, white, and green robe patterned with a red fan-like crest. Set against a plain cream background with vertical Japanese text at upper right and a red seal near the lower right corner, the scene is rendered in flat, muted colors typical of color woodblock printing.
