Description
"A Hunting Ground" draws on the charged atmosphere of pursuit and landscape in its abstract compositions, combining organic shapes with a sense of spatial depth suggestive of terrain and movement. Tajima's characteristic use of embossed or textured washi activates the surface so that the print breathes and shifts in light. The ambiguity of the subject — is this a literal field or a field of meaning? — is characteristic of his approach to titling abstract works.
