Description
Mount Arashi in Rain — Arashiyama (Storm Mountain) is one of Kyoto's most celebrated scenic areas, its forested slopes famous for autumn maples and its riverbank for the Togetsu-kyo bridge. In rain, Arashiyama takes on a particularly atmospheric quality: the mountain's profile is softened by mist, the bamboo groves drip in percussion, and the Oi River running below reflects the grey sky above. Nisaburo's rainy mountain scene captures this atmospheric transformation of a familiar Kyoto landmark.
