Torimbia is a remote natural beach on the Asturian coast of northern Spain, accessible only on foot through eucalyptus and oak forest along the Cantabrian coastline. The beach is enclosed by cliffs and backed by dunes, and its protected designation has kept it undeveloped. Escudero's etching on Hahnemühle 350 gr paper likely captures this landscape-seascape duality — the interplay of the enclosed sandy bay, the surrounding cliff faces, and the Cantabrian Sea beyond the headlands. The inclusion of this subject in a series of at least three prints (Torimbia, Torimbia II, Torimbia 3) suggests a sustained formal and personal engagement with the site, potentially varying in viewpoint, atmospheric condition, or compositional framing across versions. Intaglio line work suits the geological textures of the Asturian coast — the stratified rock faces, the wave-cut forms at the cliff base, and the water's changing surface.
