Torimbia II is the second etching in Escudero's series dedicated to the enclosed Asturian beach of Torimbia on Spain's Cantabrian coast. As the Roman numeral variant, it likely represents the first return to the site after the initial composition, potentially exploring a different vantage point, tidal state, or quality of light across the same landscape. The beach's geographical qualities — cliffs enclosing a sandy arc, dune vegetation at the rear, open sea at the mouth — offer distinct compositional possibilities depending on where within or above the cove the viewer is positioned. On Hahnemühle 350 gr paper, the intaglio marks would render the contrast between the soft dune ground and the hard geological forms of the surrounding cliffs through differentiated biting depths and mark densities. The sustained return to Torimbia across three prints suggests it holds particular significance in Escudero's landscape practice.
