Waterfall Green depicts cascading water rendered through Escudero's precise intaglio technique on heavyweight Hahnemühle 350 gr paper, a surface well-suited to holding the fine, incised lines characteristic of his etching practice. The green tonal key — likely achieved through selective inking or a tinted paper ground — gives the composition a cool, aqueous atmosphere that reinforces the subject. Waterfalls present particular challenges in printmaking: capturing the simultaneous stillness of a printed surface and the implied motion of falling water requires controlled variation in line weight and density. Escudero's background in drawing before his full commitment to engraving informs the compositional discipline visible in his waterfall series, where the interplay of light catching water against darker rock or foliage creates structural contrast within a restrained palette.
