The post-town of Fujieda at the moment when the day's last light catches the wheat fields of the Suruga plain — the blue dusk spreading across a landscape that is essentially horizontal, the wheat's golden geometry contrasting with the cooling sky. The "twilight" of the title signals one of Sekino's atmospheric specialties: the transitional light between day and night that transforms familiar landscapes into something more ambiguous and charged.
