Description
A dense field of wheat with dark, textured stalks fills the lower half of the composition, above which sits a row of thatched-roof and white-walled houses partly screened by dark pine trees. The sky and background are rendered in a flat golden-yellow, with a pale gray-white disc—the sun or moon—hanging low near the center, giving the scene a hazy, muted twilight tone.
