Description
The post-town of Fujisawa, the fourth station on the Tokaido, here rendered through its defining landscape feature: the long avenue of susuki pampas grass that fringed the road leading toward Enoshima. The swaying silver plumes frame an empty road that draws the eye toward a distant horizon, Sekino finding quiet drama in the seasonal abundance of a plant that Japanese culture associates with autumn melancholy.
