Deigan

*Deigan* (2003) is a silkscreen print by Junichiro Yoshimatsu composed almost entirely in tones of blue, rendered as a grid of sixteen textured, mottled square tiles divided by pale grout-like lines. A narrow vertical strip along the left edge shifts to dark olive-green and black, contrasting with the cool blue field, while one square left of center is rendered in deeper blue and contains a small dark, eye-like or boat-like curved form. The overall effect is abstract and geometric, evoking a tiled or paneled surface rather than a representational scene; the print is pencil-signed and dated "'03" in the lower right and numbered 14/30 in the lower left.
