Hajitomi

This abstract composition is dominated by a deep indigo blue field divided into a grid of squares, each overlaid with faint calligraphic script running vertically. A torn, lace-patterned white and grey collaged strip crosses the top edge, with small square gold or cream fragments scattered in a loose vertical line down the center of the blue field below it. The overall effect is quiet and textural, contrasting the rigid grid and dense text-like marks against the softer, irregular torn paper element. *Hajitomi*, by Junichiro Yoshimatsu (2021), silkscreen with chine collé.
