Description
Twilight C extends Kawano's exploration of the threshold moment between day and night into a third compositional variant, suggesting that this was a subject he returned to repeatedly in search of different graphic solutions. Each twilight variant likely differs in the balance of warm and cool color, the density of shadow, and the handling of the transitional light that defines the crepuscular hour. Together the series demonstrates his commitment to exhausting the expressive possibilities of a single atmospheric condition.
