$500–$4,000. Common subjects: $500–$1,500. Key value factors: Kawano's early death at 49 limits her output. Her dreamlike figure prints are most sought after.
The [oban](/glossary/oban)-format Twilight C gives Kawano's third twilight variant its largest and most developed expression. The bigger sheet allows him to extend the gradation between light and dark across a wider field, creating an image that surrounds the viewer in the particular quality of fading daylight. A figure within this atmosphere would be caught between the familiarity of the day and the mystery of the approaching night, suspended in the threshold moment the title names.
