Description
Twilight D, limited edition, is the fourth variant in Kawano's twilight series and the most formally controlled of his explorations of this atmospheric condition. The LE designation indicates a reduced print run, suggesting this version may represent his most considered treatment of the theme. Twilight in Japanese visual poetry was associated with mono no aware — the poignant awareness of transience — and Kawano's repeated returns to the subject suggest a deep personal resonance with this quality of fading, threshold light.
