The composition shows a street or waterway scene in the lower districts of Okayama rendered in Hasui's understated regional landscape manner: careful spatial recession, restrained palette, and seasonal atmosphere communicated through sky gradations and foliage color. Multi-block bokashi across the sky and any water surface required precise registration of dampened washi against successive printing blocks.
